This is a tragedy that has affected our teams not just in the NT, but right across the country.

‍

Scott Davidson, the Managing Director of BWS and I arrived in Darwin on Monday night, and yesterday we joined the BWS and ALH Hotels teams on the ground.

We have been listening to the feedback from team members, and we made the decision to keep all BWS stores in the NT closed on Tuesday.

‍

I also had the opportunity to meet with the family and offer our support to them during this incredibly distressing time. Counselling has been made available to them and our team members, and we will look to provide further support in the coming days and weeks.

‍

We have commenced a full internal review of each of our sites in the NT and their security and safety measures and we continue to work closely with the NT Government, NT Police and the SDA on what more we can do together to ensure team and community safety.

This is a serious tragedy and we are working with our team to support them, as well as the family of the team member who has lost his life.

‍

Counselling is being provided for all our team members in the Northern Territory - across our BWS stores and ALH Hotels.

‍

We are committed to Darwin and the Northern Territory and our Northern Territory based team.

‍

Our focus is their safety and wellbeing and we constantly assess and update security procedures in our stores to ensure they are fit for purpose.

‍

A full internal review of each of our sites in the NT and their security and safety measures has already commenced in the wake of this tragedy.

Endeavour Group can confirm that, following a serious incident last night at BWS Drive Through BottleShop at The Airport Tavern in Darwin, a team member has tragically passed away.

‍

Despite best efforts to revive the team member, he died at the scene.

‍

Our thoughts are with the team member’s family, friends and loved ones.

‍

We thank the emergency service workers who attended the scene. We will offer counselling and support to all our team members in Darwin across BWS and ALH Hotels, and the team member’s family.

‍

The incident is now being investigated by NT Police.
