Dan Murphy’s Claudia Castles named Young Liquor Retailer of the Year

Claudia Castles, the store manager of Dan Murphy’s in Bulimba, Queensland has been named Young Liquor Retailer of the Year at the 2024 Retail Drinks Australia (RDA) Awards.

The success continued for Australia’s leading liquor retailer with Dan Murphy’s in Sunbury, Victoria also named Large Format Liquor Store of the Year.

Nearly 400 members of the RDA and drinks industry colleagues came together in Sydney last night for the annual awards ceremony for Australia’s retail drinks industry.

‍

Claudia Castles took out the award for Young Liquor Retailer of the Year after being chosen by judges from a list of more than 80 nominees from retail liquor stores across the country.

‍

“I’ve loved every minute of working with Endeavour and it has ignited my passion for the drinks industry. I am so passionate about sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for what we do with my team and customers. This award means so much to me as recognition for my love of working in the drinks industry,” Ms Castles said.

The awards are judged by a panel of leading industry experts. For the Young Liquor Retailer of the Year award, the panel evaluates the nominee’s leadership skills, commitment to continued development and overall success of the business.

Claudia has been a Dan Murphy’s team member for nearly four years. Prior to becoming store manager at Bulimba Dan Murphy’s, she played a part in the opening of the Newstead store in 2021, West End in 2022, and Mitchelton in 2023 as Customer Experience Manager.

‍

As Young Liquor Retailer of the Year, she will now have the opportunity to join the RDA Board as an observer for the next 12 months, following in the footsteps of last year’s winner, Tess Sharp, who has since moved into the role of People Adviser with Endeavour Group.
