Dan Murphy’s continues to explore beer clip collection initiative
Australia’s leading liquor retailer Dan Murphy’s acknowledges the recent announcement from beer clip manufacturer, PakTech, that it will shortly be commencing the manufacture of beer clips that have been approved for kerbside recycling through the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) Australian Recycling Label (ARL) program.
Beer clips are plastic devices that are affixed to the top of aluminium cans to hold beverages together.
In support of this announcement, Dan Murphy’s will have collection bins available in more than 100 stores on a trial basis until 30 June 2024.
As part of the trial, customers can return their beer clips to nominated stores.
Dan Murphy’s will transfer these clips to a third-party waste management company for recycling.
The long-term feasibility of the initiative will be assessed after completion of the trial on 30 June 2024.
