Krondorf and Chapel Hill Shiraz varieties awarded Gold at world-renowned London Wine Competition
In a stunning display of Australian viticulture, a trio of wines from the Paragon Wine Estates portfolio have been awarded a Gold medal at the prestigious London Wine Competition.
Krondorf’s Old Salem Barossa Shiraz 2021, Krondorf’s Founders View Barossa Shiraz 2022 and Chapel Hill’s The Parson McLaren Vale Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre all scored 90 points highlighting the exceptional quality of Australian wines on the global stage.
The unique judging criteria looks to recognise top quality wines which also offer trade and consumers great value for money.
Krondorf chief winemaker Nick Badrice says the achievement shows viticulture craftsmanship can be provided to customers at more accessible price points.
“To be awarded Gold medals at the London Wine Competition for our Krondorf Old Salem Barossa Shiraz and Krondorf Founders View Barossa Shiraz is truly amazing,” he said.
“It’s a true reflection of the Krondorf team’s dedication and focus to growing and sourcing high quality Barossa fruit.
“It’s fantastic to be recognised on the world stage at such a prestigious event.”
Chapel Hill’s chief winemaker Michael Fragos says the award further elevates Chapel Hill’s reputation for exceptional wines.
“The gold medal is a real testament to the passion and dedication of everyone involved from our wonderful grape growers to our amazing team in the winery,” he said.
“Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvedre are the 3 quintessential McLaren Vale varieties and the blend expresses the wonderful personality and history of the region.
